Alonso Issues Warning for Hamilton
After the 2006 Formula One season and two times world champion Fernando Alonso jumped from Renault to McLaren, the Spaniard said he needs a new challenge. His wish was granted as he is now facing the biggest challenge in his career. He is not going toe to toe with a Ferrari or BMW Sauber driver, but his challenger on the same team. Lewis Hamilton, British Formula One rookie sensation, is now the only obstacle between Alonso and his third consecutive driver’s championship. The British driver has broken record after record in his maiden Formula One season. He now leads the drivers championship with seven races already in the books and ten races to go. In all his seven races so far, Hamilton has produced podium for McLaren. He was third on the first race of the season. He then took four second place finishes. The North American leg of the Formula One season he won both the Canadian and United States Grand Prix. Alonso has been warning the newcomer that the race for the championship is just about to start when the Formula One calendar brings them back to Europe. “I’m going to enjoy coming back to Europe. The championship starts now, “said Alonso in a recent interview. “We have only seven races, not even half of the championship. When we return to Magny-Cours and Silverstone we start the real season and the real battle. “The French Grand Prix will be held at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours on the first of July. The Santander British Grand Prix one week later at Silverstone will be held. Alonso would have been to raise his game to catch up with Hamilton. Both are talented drivers and both are the same Mercedes-Benz ¬ bumper / nose equipped MP4-22 Formula One car. The Canadian and United States Grand Prix, it was their performance in the qualifying rounds that spelled the advantage over the other. Hamilton took pole position and eventually won both races. While there are rumors that the tight battle between the two McLaren drivers has led to animosity, McLaren denies. Norbert Haug, Vice President Mercedes-Benz Motorsport, has this to say about the relationship between the teammates: “We have a situation now where they speak their minds, but I really need to tell you it is not a problem in the team. I think it is very, very balanced, and I see none of these frictions. Of course, you have a positive competition between the drivers and between the teams, the left and right side of the garage. “” I understand that people are looking for controversial stories. But within the team, it’s different. If you look at our track record over the last few races, I honestly do not think that (if) we have bad feelings within the team can reach you have. We need the positive and good feelings, and I think what we have achieved, “he added. Hamilton currently leads Alonso by ten points after seven races. While Alonso is looking for his best performance on the French and British Grand Prix to cancel, he will face the fact that the British Grand Prix, Hamilton’s home.

BMW Sauber aims: get both cars to Finish Line
After two races in North American metropolises, Formula One is reviving the rural flavor as it reaches halfway this season. The drivers will line up in Magny-Cours on July 1 to compete for the most coveted title in the sport. For the BMW Sauber team, the goal is to get both cars finish the horrific crash line. After Robert Kubica in Montreal and after a number of unwanted retirement, the team plans to go full throttle at Magny-Cours to take advantage of the circuit offers. A crash and a retirement saw the BMW Sauber to leave North America feel short-changed. The team expects an illuminating comparison with racing BMW rear. “The Magny-Cours has much to offer – two tricky chicanes, a high-speed section and some slow corners. I look forward to the race weekend. The track is demanding, I like the countryside around the circuit and you tend to eat very well in France. There is not much going on in Magny-Cours and it gets its fair share of criticism as a result. But I have a little peace and quiet like some, “said Nick Heidfeld. Kubica said: “I can not wait to get back in the car. I may not have the green light to compete in the U.S., but I hope the medical examination at Magny-Cours will be a formality. The reason I was not allowed to drive at Indianapolis had nothing to do with how I felt, the problem was the risk of suffering a second accident within a short time. That is why I could not test it. I’ve used the time to focus intensively on preparing for the next race. “The Pole added:” I’m pretty neutral about the Magny-Cours circuit. It is not one of my favorite tracks, yet I have no problem with it. Magny-Cours is a lot more fun than a Formula One car with the smaller cars that I have already ridden in other categories of racing. You can use the potential of the F1 car through the chicanes see in particular “Mario Theissen, BMW Motorsport Director, has this to say:”. After the Grand Prix double-header in major cities across the Atlantic, a secluded rural idyll of Magny-Cours is a welcome contrast. You are free to concentrate on sport and the demanding circuit. Like Robert himself, the team is also in the hope that he is back in the car in France. The race at Magny-Cours doctors will have the last word on that one though. “He added,” We have finished in the points in every race so far this season, but in the last two GPs we only managed to get a car to the finish on each occasion. Nick would be down to third place finish in the U.S. and his retirement was a real pain. We are looking to pick up points with both cars in Magny-Cours and thereby increasing our third place in the World Cup. “The two Grands Prix in North America saw the cars driving with a medium downforce, but now we are heading into a series of races where high downforce, the order of the day. Magny-Cours offers an interesting mix of slow and fast corners. A feature worth mentioning is the ground, which is very sensitive to fluctuations in temperature. The right set-up in the morning might not necessarily be a good afternoon. This is something you should remember if you make modifications to the car, “said BMW Sauber’s technical director Willy Rampf.
